الملخص

The research aims to reveal the residential reality in Badra City, as well as to develop a future vision for the development of the housing sector in it. To achieve this, the descriptive and historical approach was used, especially in the emergence of the city, the origin of its name, and the stages of development of its residential patterns through its different time stages. In each stage of the city's development, it witnessed a distinctive residential pattern that is consistent with the circumstances and changes it went through. The analytical and quantitative approach was also used to study the population characteristics of the city, in addition to using maps using geographic information systems technology via the Arc is program. The research reached several results, the most prominent of which is that natural factors, especially the location of the city and its location, are of great importance in its emergence and development over time, as its location in a flat plain area contributed to facilitating the construction of residential units in it, in addition to predicting the future of the city until the target year 2038, and on this basis, it is expected that the population will reach (13368) people and (3183) families, and it is expected that the number of residential units will reach  (3140) housing units, assuming that each family has one housing unit. The total area of ​​the city is expected to reach (591.3) hectares, which requires allocating an additional (20) hectares to meet the city's housing needs until 2038.
